Globe adds 5G roaming services in more countries in Europe, making it the only Philippine telco with the widest 5G coverage in the continent. As COVID restrictions ease and global travel slowly pick up, Globe’s partnerships expand its global footprint and allow customers to enjoy new travel experiences in more countries at 5G speeds.
Globe has established 5G roaming partnerships in Greece with Cosmote, in Slovakia through O2, and in Ireland through Vodafone. Globe customers can also avail themselves of high-speed roaming services in the United Kingdom through Vodafone.
These add to Globe’s already extensive list of European partner countries, which include Bulgaria through Vivacom, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden through Telia Company, Italy through Telecom Italia, Czech Republic through O2, Switzerland through Swisscom, Greece via Cosmote, and Germany through Vodafone.
“As we continue to partner with more 5G-ready telcos around the world, our goal is always to deliver a high-speed data roaming experience that’s convenient and easy to use so our customers can safely navigate and stay in control even while abroad during this time,” said Coco Domingo, Globe Vice President for Postpaid and International.
Globe subscribers can avail of roaming services at 5G speeds through the popular Roam Surf 399 which gives all-day data for Postpaid and 1GB for Prepaid. The offer is made even richer with the new Roam Surf Plus, a P200 add-on that lets customers enjoy a generous allocation of calls and texts (all-day for Postpaid, 60 mins, and 60 texts for Prepaid) on top of their data.
In the same manner, Globe’s partnerships with top international telco operators will also allow their own subscribers who visit the Philippines to enjoy 5G roaming; as long as they are using 5G-enabled phones in 5G locations.
Globe is the pioneer in 5G technology in the Philippines, being the first mobile operator in Southeast Asia to commercially launch 5G AirFiber for Home use in 2019. Globe 5G is available in over 1,900 locations across the Philippines as of the end of September. To know more, visit here.
