How to Buy Cryptocurrency with the PayMaya finance app

Here are five easy steps to help you get started with your crypto journey.

PayMaya’s all-in-one finance app experience has just included a cryptocurrency (crypto) feature, allowing Filipinos to buy and earn digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum for as little as P1.

The new service is part of the company’s integrated vision to expand beyond payments by making financial services like cryptocurrency more widely available. PayMaya is licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as an Electronic Money Issuer (EMI) and a Virtual Asset Services Provider (VASP) (BSP).

Buying and earning cryptocurrency can be difficult for consumers due to the requirement to use several apps with separate registration processes and experiences. PayMaya has made it easier than ever to get into cryptocurrency by delivering an all-in-one experience.

There’s no need to create a new account, apply for an upgrade, or download a different app. Customers can learn to use crypto, deposit money into their wallets, purchase and trade coins, and spend their crypto earnings all from within their PayMaya account, unlike other e-wallets and apps.

PayMaya users who have upgraded their accounts can trade in a range of popular coins directly from their PayMaya wallet in Philippine Pesos. They can also purchase and sell cryptocurrency at any moment with no additional cash in or cash out fees. The function is fully integrated into the app experience, and it offers ease thanks to its secure infrastructure and 99.9% app uptime rate.

Here are five easy steps to help you get started with your crypto journey and buy your favorite coins via PayMaya:

  1. Login to your PayMaya app and tap on the Crypto icon.
  2. Tap on “BUY” and choose which cryptocurrency you want to purchase.
  3. Input the amount you want to invest.
  4. A confirmation purchase tab will pop up on the screen. Once you are OK with the details, you can proceed and slide to buy.
  5. Wait for the confirmation and receipt.

Done! You’ve just made your first crypto purchase!

The total value of your Crypto Portfolio can be seen on the PayMaya Crypto homepage.

Here’s how to SELL your existing crypto portfolio:

  1. Login to your PayMaya app and tap on the Crypto icon.
  2. Tap on the Sell button and select the desired cryptocurrency you want to sell.
  3. You can then input the amount you want to sell or select a percentage value (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) to sell a part of your currently owned asset. You will see the equivalent PHP value based on an estimated market price. Then tap Next on the upper right hand of the screen.
  4. A confirm sell tab will pop up on the screen. Once you are OK with the details, you can proceed and slide to sell.
  5. Wait for the confirmation and receipt.

Your earnings will be deposited into your PayMaya wallet. Simply check the amount on the home screen of your app. You can spend the money for your regular PayMaya transactions or have it sent to your bank account immediately once you receive it. It’s that simple.

PayMaya’s crypto function offers a LEARN page to help new customers comprehend their investment and the crypto market, in addition to a clear BUY and SELL feature.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), Uniswap (UNI), Solana (SOL), Quant (QNT), Polkadot (DOT), Polygon (MATIC), and Tether (USDT) are now supported cryptocurrencies, with more on the way.
