At the heart of the vivo T1 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, which promises superb gaming performance on a number of fronts. It also packs a 64MP triple camera setup and a 90hz refresh rate AMOLED display.

Can the vivo T1 5G deliver on its promise given that it costs less than PHP 20k? Find out in our full review.

Let’s do the Unboxing!

The phone arrives with a charger and a decent back case in a package. This ensures you won’t have to shell out extra cash for a phone case. The Vivo T15G is available in two colors: Turbo Black and Turbo Cyan.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Vivo T1 5G
  • Clear silicone case
  • Quick Start Guide
  • Ejector tool
  • Warranty card
  • USB-C cable
  • 80-watt FlashCharge wall charger

To make it more exciting, here’s our unboxing review:

A stylish design that will make you proud

Vivo made the decision to go with a tried-and-true design with premium plastic construction and curved back edges.

vivo t1 5g

The vivo T1 5G has a tall, slender frame that makes it comfortable to hold despite its height. Although the majority of it is plastic, the metallic paint job gives it a great, high-end aesthetic. Conversely, the back panel has curved sides that give the impression that the device is thinner than it actually is. Depending on the angle, its frosted glass surface emits a lovely sheen. Additionally, the material has a pleasant feel and effectively deters fingerprints and smudges.

Similar to the Huawei P50 or OnePlus Nord 2T, the camera module is in the top left corner and has a pattern of camera lenses. The phone is not water or dust-proof, but Vivo has added a rubber barrier to the SIM slot to keep moisture out.

The SIM tray, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille are on the bottom of the phone, while the power button and volume rockers are on the right side. Both an IR blaster and a 3.5mm audio connector are absent from the phone.

We received the Turbo Black version for this review, which shimmers in intense light and has a classy look.

The screen offers a pleasant 20:9 aspect ratio and a 100% DCI P3 color gamut. The phone also has an SGS Eye Care Display certification, which means that you can binge-watch for hours without getting tired eyes.

Great for entertainment and visuals

The full HD+ AMOLED display on the vivo T1 Pro 5G delivers a respectable 90Hz refresh rate. Though a 120HZ refresh rate could be more appealing for gamers, similar to the Infinix ZERO 5G, it is still forgivable given the choice of an AMOLED display.

For playing fast-paced games on your phone, the display is fluid and responsive, and it also provides a pleasurable viewing experience when watching movies and web series. You can stream your favorite series or movies on Netflix with excellent image quality thanks to the T1 5G’s Widevine L1 and HDR10 support.

A perfect companion for travel

A 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera are all included in the Vivo T1 Pro 5G’s triple camera setup on the back. Selfies may be taken with the front-facing 16MP camera.

The 64MP primary camera specializes in capturing fine details and has a fairly wide dynamic range. Having said that, the camera’s color algorithm tends to favor vibrant, lively tones, which are ideal for use on social media. Its large F1.79 aperture lets in a lot of light even when there isn’t much light, and the dedicated night mode improves images by adding a small amount of light to shots taken at night.

Selfies come out excellent with lots of details, though the processing could be enhanced. Additionally, the phone enables 4K video recording, enabling you to record videos in exquisite detail.

Performance and Benchmarks

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 5G, which has an octa-core CPU, an Adreno 642L GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, powers the vivo T1 5G. Additionally, it incorporates a Vapor Chamber Cooling System to remove heat generated during gaming.

We have the phone with 6GB of RAM for our review. Like many recently released Vivo smartphones, it uses some of its UFS 2.2 storage as “Virtual RAM,” and our model comes with an extra 4GB of Virtual RAM.

Wild Life test

For a mid-range smartphone, the test results were fairly excellent, and the T1 5G outperformed the Realme 9 Pro in the Antutu benchmark test, which only yielded 508325 under the same price.

Games with demanding graphics, such as Genshin Impact, Diablo Immortal, and Call of Duty Mobile, can be played with this configuration. The Vapor Chamber Cooling System keeps the device cool overall while allowing it to become warm at times. This phone has a great 4D Linear Motor from Vivo that makes gaming more fun and realistic.

Given its reasonable price point, the vivo T1 5G surpasses our expectations for a mid-range gaming performance overall.

It’s more fun with FunTouch 12!

The Funtouch 12 proprietary user interface, which is based on Android 12, powers the vivo T1 5G. The apps are housed in a straightforward design with vibrant iconography that combines home screens with an app drawer. There are a few useful apps already installed, and it doesn’t seem to have any bloatware.

The UI’s general usability is satisfying. On a daily basis, we had no noticeable lags or other issues.

Game On!

vivo t1 5g

The Ultra Game Mode is one feature of the vivo T1 5G that mobile gamers will appreciate. By tapping the Ultra Game Mode button in the drop-down menu, you can turn it on. But typically, once you start a game, it will turn on automatically.

At this point, the device has already optimized itself. It has freed up RAM, turned off unnecessary background services, and cut down on notifications so that you can play games without lag.

5G on the go!

The vivo T1 5G has all the standard connectivity functions, including dual-SIM with 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, and GPS. You’ll have to utilize a wireless connection or an adaptor as there isn’t a 3.5mm audio socket. There’s also a fingerprint scanner for biometrics on the display.

The vivo T1 5G can last all-day

The phone is powered by a large 4700 mAh battery. It delivers an excellent battery backup of up to a day on a single charge based on my typical usage, which includes internet browsing, watching videos or movies, participating in calls or video chats, browsing social networking applications, and playing games. The Vivo T1 Pro also comes with 66W FlashCharge technology, which lets you charge your phone to 50% in only 25 minutes.

The vivo T1 5G got an impressive 18 hours and 52 minutes in the PCMark Work 3.0 battery test that we put all of our phones through, which mimics hard mixed-use. In comparison to other pricey phones, this is one of the best so far. It shows that the battery of the T1 5G may last a day of regular use.

Should you buy the vivo T1 5G?

Given that the 8GB/128GB version of the Vivo T1 5G costs only PHP 16,999, it is really a compelling offer. At the same price, it will compete with the Realme 9 Pro. The OnePlus Nord CE 2, priced at PHP 16,850 and featuring the same RAM/storage configuration as the Dimensity 900, is another rival.

There are some favorable aspects to the Vivo T1 5G. The AMOLED screen, competent CPU, and 90Hz refresh rate, which is ideal for mobile gamers, are all great features. The device is capable of running some resource-intensive games. Another strong point that meets most of your photography needs is the camera.

We can say that the Vivo T1 5G is in a league of its own and is worth every cent of its asking price.

The Vivo T1 5G sells at P16,999 locally at Vivo’s flagship stores online via Shopee and Lazada and authorized retailers nationwide.
