Spotify Rolls Out Offline Backup, Letting You Save Songs Without Downloading—perfect for when you forget to Prep Playlists Before Heading Out.
This feature automatically kicks in if you’re a Spotify Premium subscriber. The Offline Backup playlist saves songs you’ve recently streamed, queued, or cached, so they’re always available on your device. You can filter and sort them by artist, mood, or genre.
Spotify’s Offline Backup adapts to your listening habits, making sure there’s always something familiar or fresh at your fingertips.
This feature is especially handy when you’re in a spot with no Wi-Fi or signal, ensuring you always have something to listen to. Best of all, it doesn’t use extra data or storage since it works with your cached tracks.
Rolling out globally for Spotify Premium users on Android and iOS, the Offline Backup playlist will show up automatically on your home page when you’re offline.
Just make sure offline listening is enabled and you’ve recently played more than five songs. You can also add Offline Backup to your library for easy access whenever you need it.
