MediaTek is set to launch its Dimensity 9400 chipset next month, featuring the new Immortalis-G925 graphics unit from Arm. The Taiwanese company is touting this GPU as “the highest performing, most efficient” one to date.
Recent benchmarks seem to back up that claim. In the GFX Aztec 1440p off-screen Vulkan benchmark, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 scored an impressive 134 fps—far surpassing the Apple A18 Pro’s 72 fps and last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s 95 fps.
The Aztec test is part of the GFXBench suite, which simulates a demanding 3D gaming environment to really push graphics hardware to its limits, especially with Vulkan, a high-performance graphics API.
When we say “1440p,” we’re referring to the test running at QHD resolution, which offers a higher level of detail. The “off-screen” aspect evaluates the GPU purely on its raw performance, without the usual resolution constraints affecting the results.
The test really highlights what the Dimensity 9400 with the Immortalis-G925 can do. However, at the end of the day, a chipset is only as good as the phone it’s in. So, we’ll have to wait and see which manufacturers choose to incorporate MediaTek’s chipset into their flagship models for 2025.
