Samsung has started rolling out the third public beta of One UI 7, based on Android 15, to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in Germany. As is typical with beta releases, the update will gradually expand to other regions. It will be available in areas where the beta program is offered in the coming days.
This update brings several key improvements and fixes. It includes the January 2025 security patch and addresses a range of issues to improve user experience. One of the most notable changes is a smoother vertical scrolling experience in the app drawer. Users had previously reported this feature as laggy. Additionally, Samsung has fixed the MMS image-saving problem in the Messages app, which had been causing issues for some users. The update enhances the responsiveness of the Quick Panel, making it quicker and more reliable to close.
Other interface improvements include better placement of the Now Bar. The update fixes alignment issues with the lock screen, Always On Display, status bar battery icon, and notification icons. It also smooths lock screen editing for a more polished experience, restores volume key functionality in Routine+, and resolves Edge Panel issues. For gaming enthusiasts, the Game Booster now defaults to 120Hz, optimizing the gaming experience.
The new update is identified as S921BXXU4ZXLJ for the Galaxy S24, S926BXXU4ZXLJ for the Galaxy S24+, and S928BXXU4ZXLJ for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. If you’re in the beta program in Germany and haven’t received the update notification yet, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update.
As always with beta updates, users may encounter minor bugs or stability issues. However, this update addresses many user-reported problems and brings significant improvements to the software experience.
