Qualcomm just confirmed it will launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, previously rumored as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, later this month.
A prototype of the realme GT7 Pro, supposedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, has popped up online with a jaw-dropping AnTuTu score of 3,025,991. Apple’s latest A18 Pro scored 1,651,728 points on the same benchmark, nearly half the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s performance.
The source pointed out that AnTuTu uses different technologies for Android (Vulkan) and iOS (Metal), so a direct comparison might not fully reflect real-world performance differences.
On paper, the 8 Elite is catching up, built on a 3nm process and powered by the Adreno 830 GPU. Qualcomm will release two versions: a standard model with two performance cores clocked at 4.09GHz and a premium option with faster 4.32GHz cores.
Leaked Geekbench results show impressive scores, hitting 3,260 in single-core and 10,051 in multi-core tests, along with 125 fps in GFXBench and 166 fps in DreamWorks Wild Life. These scores outpace Apple’s A18 Pro, which managed 3,182 in single-core and 7,872 in multi-core benchmarks.
Qualcomm will officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite at the Snapdragon Summit from October 21 to 23. The first devices to feature the chip will include the realme GT7 Pro, iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, and Xiaomi 15 series.
