The SHARP AQUOS R9 Pro has officially launched! Unveiled in Japan, this impressive device features co-engineered Leica optics and is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
It features a stunning 6.7-inch PRO IGZO OLED display with QHD+ resolution and an impressive refresh rate of up to 240Hz. The device is equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery and boasts a unique vapor chamber design that effectively dissipates heat towards the outer ring of the camera module.
As previously mentioned, the SHARP AQUOS R9 Pro boasts optics co-engineered by Leica, highlighted by a remarkable 50.3-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. It also features a 50.3-megapixel telephoto camera that offers up to 20x digital zoom and a 50.3-megapixel wide-angle camera.
On the front, there’s a 50.3-megapixel selfie camera that captures stunning shots. Plus, the device supports Dolby Vision video recording, making it a great choice for videographers. It runs on Android 14 and is guaranteed to receive up to three major software updates.
For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual SIM support (nano-SIM + eSIM). Additionally, it comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, along with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for added security.
The SHARP AQUOS R9 Pro is priced at JPY 190,000 (~ PHP 72,000) and comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The package also includes a case, a shoulder strap, and a camera attachment for mounting lens filters.
SHARP plans to launch its flagship smartphone in Japan in December 2024, followed by releases in Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore. We’ll keep our readers updated on whether the device will be available in the Philippines.
