The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is here with a spacious 6.7” display and a bigger battery to keep up with it. This model emphasizes enhanced performance and introduces the ProVisual engine to the FE lineup. This year, Samsung eliminates regional variations in chipsets—the S24 FE will use the Exynos 2400e. While specifics remain sparse, analysts expect the prime Cortex-X4 core to run at a lower clock speed.
While peak performance may dip, sustained performance improves significantly with a new vapor chamber that’s 1.1 times larger. Last year’s S23 FE combined Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 due to the lack of an Exynos 2300, so the upgrade from the S23 FE to the S24 FE should be impressive.
The S24 FE comes with 8GB of RAM, like the Galaxy S24, and offers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. This RAM size won’t hinder the phone’s ability to run Galaxy AI, which we’ll discuss later.
The S24 FE features a 6.7” FHD+ OLED display, 0.3” larger than its predecessor, making it more affordable than the S24+. It supports 120Hz and 60Hz refresh rates and includes a Vision Booster for improved visibility in bright sunlight.
Samsung introduced the ProVisual engine to the FE series, enhancing Nightography for better low-light shots and optimizing colors in Super HDR. It also features an optical quality 2x zoom.
The camera setup features a 50MP main camera (f/1.8), a 3x 8MP telephoto lens (f/2.4) for zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2) with a 123° field of view. The 10MP selfie camera completes the setup. While the hardware remains similar to last year, it now benefits from enhanced processing power and the ProVisual engine for better performance.
The Galaxy S24 FE features a larger 4,700mAh battery, a 200mAh upgrade from the S23 FE. Charging rates remain unchanged, with 25W wired charging reaching 50% in about 30 minutes and 15W wireless charging.
The S24 FE measures 162.0 x 77.3 x 8.0mm and weighs 213g—4mm taller, slightly wider, and a bit thinner than the S23 FE. In comparison, the Galaxy S24+ is narrower with slimmer bezels and is 17g lighter, despite having a 200mAh larger battery.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.3. The phone is IP68 rated, resisting dust and water up to 1.5m (5ft) for 30 minutes.
Launching with Android 14 and OneUI 6.1, the timing isn’t ideal since Android 15 is on the horizon. The S24 FE will receive flagship treatment, with updates for 7 OS generations and security patches for 7 years.
The S24 FE comes packed with familiar Galaxy AI features. Circle to Search lets you look up info on Google—just long-press the home button and circle what you want. Live Translate lets you translate voices during calls and is now available in some third-party apps. For in-person translation, there’s the Interpreter feature. The Composer tool in Samsung Keyboard helps you write emails and social media posts using just a few keywords. Note Assist simplifies formatting notes, transcribing voice recordings, summarizing content, and translating PDFs.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is now available for pre-order, with an official release date set for October 3. The base model is priced at around $650, which is approximately ₱36,000. Keep in mind that the 512GB storage option may not be available in all regions.
