In October 2024, Poco announced it would shut down its po.co website. Starting in 2025, Xiaomi will exclusively sell all Poco products through its website, marking a shift in the brand’s digital strategy. The decision is part of Xiaomi’s broader strategy to streamline its digital ecosystem, consolidating all sales under a single platform.
Xiaomi will launch the Poco X7 duo as its first major product on January 9, 2025. This will be the first of many Poco devices to appear on the Xiaomi platform, signaling the brand’s transition from its independent online presence to a more integrated sales model.
As a result of this change, the global po.co website, as well as its regional counterparts—such as the UK, French, and German sites—are no longer active. Xiaomi now redirects visitors to these pages to the respective Xiaomi stores for those regions. This move underscores Xiaomi’s intention to centralize its product offerings and reduce fragmentation in its digital retail operations.
Meanwhile, Poco India appears to be in a state of stagnation, with no major updates following the anticipated launch of the Poco C75 and Poco M7 Pro 5G in mid-December 2024. The company has frozen its online presence in India, with no new product launches or announcements.
Another notable change is the discontinuation of the Poco Store app. Users can still retrieve their data through Xiaomi account settings, in line with data protection laws. However, the app itself is no longer functional.
In terms of after-sales support, Poco has confirmed that Xiaomi will now handle all product warranties. While Poco has long been viewed as an independent brand, it has continuously operated under the umbrella of Xiaomi. The transition to Xiaomi handling warranties further emphasizes the close ties between the two companies. Poco has primarily served as a marketing strategy to expand Xiaomi’s reach, rather than a fully independent brand.
