Nothing is gearing up to launch its first true flagship, the Nothing Phone (3), alongside two mid-range models: then Nothing (3a) and (3a) Plus. While the exact lineup for their March 4 event is still unclear, there’s a growing sense of what we can expect from one of these devices.
Leaks suggest the Nothing Phone (3a) could feature a larger 6.8-inch screen, offering a more immersive display. Additionally, it might sport a 50MP telephoto camera, marking an impressive upgrade for the mid-range segment. The details are still rolling in, but this could be a promising addition to Nothing’s lineup.
The Nothing Phone (3a) has been tipped to come with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, marking a shift from the MediaTek-powered (2a), which had the Dimensity 7200 Pro. This change could bring a boost in performance for the (3a), making it an interesting option in the mid-range market.
According to leakster Gadget Bits, the phone, identified by model number A059, will launch with Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15. It will also keep the signature Glyph lights, adding that unique touch that sets the brand apart from the competition.
Big Display and Better Telephoto Camera
The Nothing Phone (3a) will come with a larger 6.8-inch OLED display, offering a 1080p+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It will also feature a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera, keeping in line with previous Nothing models.
On the back, the camera setup sees some changes. The (3a) will introduce its first telephoto module, a 50MP camera with a 2x optical zoom lens. However, the ultra-wide camera will drop to 8MP from the previous 50MP sensors. The main camera will still feature a 50MP sensor, though details are scarce at the moment.
The “first” telephoto module on the Nothing Phone (3a) may not be as clear-cut, as all three models in the Phone (3) series could share that distinction if they’re announced together. There’s also some buzz that the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus might feature a periscope lens, offering a longer focal length than the 2x (50mm) telephoto on the (3a). The flagship Phone (3) will likely have the best telephoto camera of the bunch, though we don’t have full details on that yet.
The Nothing Phone (3a) will have a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging, matching the specs of the previous (2a) model.
Nothing will reveal the entire Phone (3) series on March 4. With Carl Pei at the helm, we can expect plenty of teasers leading up to the launch.
