The Vivo V40 and V40 Pro have just been unveiled, offering bigger batteries without compromising their ultra-thin designs. Along with new camera setups and sleek looks, there’s more to get excited about.
The Vanilla Vivo V40 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, a step up from the V30. Meanwhile, the V40 Pro has made a significant leap with the Dimensity 9200+ chip, far surpassing the Dimensity 8200.
The V40 and V40 Pro are identical in size, and both sport the same 6.78” AMOLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels. A major upgrade is the screen’s peak brightness, now reaching 4500 nits, a big improvement over the V30 series. The display also features a punch hole for a single 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 camera.
On the back of the V40 Pro, you’ll find a 50 MP main camera with a Sony IMX921 sensor, a 50 MP telephoto portrait camera with a Sony IMX816 sensor, and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera with an unspecified sensor.
The vanilla V40 features a dual-camera setup inspired by the star constellation Gemini, according to the company. It includes a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. The main cameras come equipped with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and an AI Aura Light Portrait mode.
The phones come with Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14. The company promises a “50-month smooth experience,” highlighting its commitment to long-term software support.
What’s even more impressive is that the V40 and V40 Pro are equipped with 5,500 mAh batteries, the largest ever in the vivo V series. Plus, they support fast 80W FlashCharge for quick and convenient recharging.
The device offers three memory options: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. Similarly, the V40 Pro comes in three variants: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.
Both vivo phones are available in Meteor Blue, Moonlight White, and Stellar Silver. Additionally, the V40 offers two extra colors: Nebula Purple and Sunglow Peach.
The V40 and V40 Pro have launched in India and will gradually become available in other markets. The V40 starts at estimated (PHP28,000/$480/€440), while the base price for the V40 Pro is estimated (PHP38,000/$655/€600).
