vivo ruled the Indian smartphone market in the third quarter of this year (July to September). It shipped 9.1 million units during that time, up from 7.2 million in Q3 last year. vivo now has a 19% market share, whereas one year ago it was 17%.
Xiaomi Follows Close Behind, Shipping 7.8 million Units in Q3. Despite a slight increase in shipments, its market share dipped by 1% to 17%.
“Samsung takes third place with a 16% market share, shipping 7.5 million units—down from 18% and 7.9 million units last year. Oppo follows with 6.3 million units and a 13% share, while Realme rounds out the top five with 5.3 million shipments and 11% of the market.”
Oppo saw the biggest growth, surging 43% compared to last year, while Realme saw an 8% decline. Overall, India’s smartphone shipments grew by 9%, reaching 47.1 million units. Looking ahead, Canalys expects modest single-digit growth in 2025, driven by the ultra-low-end 5G segment.
