According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the global tablet market experienced impressive growth in Q3 2024, with 39.6 million tablets shipped, marking a year-over-year increase of 20.4%.
Apple continues to lead the market, shipping 12.6 million units, though it achieved a modest year-over-year growth of just 1.4%. Meanwhile, Samsung secured the second spot with 7.1 million tablets sold, reflecting a significant year-over-year increase of 18.3%. Analysts attribute this surge in sales to the commercial success of the Galaxy Tab A9 series.
Amazon secured the third spot in tablet sales with 4.6 million units shipped, showcasing an impressive year-over-year growth of 111.3%. This surge is largely thanks to strong sales during Amazon Prime Day. Huawei also had a strong performance, selling 3.3 million units and achieving a solid year-over-year increase of 44.1%. Meanwhile, Lenovo rounded out the top five with 3 million units sold and a respectable 14.7% growth.
