Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 back in March, and it’s clear the company is already gearing up for its successor, likely set to debut in the first quarter of next year. Today, some details about the Galaxy A56’s camera have surfaced, and as the saying goes, we’ve got some good news and some bad news to share.
Let’s start with the good news. The Galaxy A56 will feature an upgraded selfie camera, likely a 12 MP sensor, which will replace the 32 MP camera that has been part of the A5x lineup since the Galaxy A51 debuted in 2019.
While we haven’t confirmed whether this new camera will match the one in Samsung’s flagship S series, we know that this upgrade will provide a noticeable improvement over the current A5x models.
While the upgraded selfie camera is great news, the Samsung Galaxy A56 will only see improvements in that area compared to the Galaxy A55. Reports suggest that it will retain the same 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and 5 MP macro camera as its predecessor.
So, if you were hoping for a telephoto lens to make its way into the Galaxy A5x lineup—Samsung’s best-selling series—you might have to hold off until the A57.
