The Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro, the newest devices in Oppo’s Reno series, have finally been released in India. Oppo has now introduced the devices in India, however the high-end mid-ranger models feature some notable updates.
The standard Oppo Reno 8 has a 90Hz AMOLED display, 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage, and a triple camera configuration on the back. It is a MediaTek Dimensity 1300-powered smartphone. The Pro variant, on the other hand, includes Oppo’s own MariSilicon X image processing technology, a triple camera configuration, a 120Hz AMOLED display, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage.
As you might have guessed, the Reno 8 series introduced in India differs slightly from the Reno 8 series that made its debut in China earlier this year. For a short summary of the modified specifications, see the table below.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro
The top-tier Reno model in Oppo’s most recent Reno lineup is the Reno 8 Pro. It has three cameras with a specialized Marisilicon X image NPU, a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100-Max processor. The phone has a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging.
Comparatively, the Reno 8 Pro in China is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1-based handset with a similar design and a few other small adjustments. The Indian Reno 8 Pro, meanwhile, comes pre-installed with ColorOS 12.1, which is based on Android 12.
Oppo Reno 8
The standard Reno 8, which lacks the Marisilicon X chip, is significantly more cheap and features MediaTek’s Dimensity 1300 chip, a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, and triple cameras. The phone has a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging.
The identical Reno 8 model that was introduced in China earlier this year was also released in India. It has the identical display, SoC, and camera components. Due to the scarcity of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1-powered handsets, we earnestly hope Oppo did the same with the Pro version.
