In China, a new Oppo A-series phone was quietly launched today. The Oppo A56 5G is the successor of the Oppo A55 5G, while the specifications are nearly the same, with the new model having one less 2MP camera around the back. New paint coatings in black, purple, and blue are also included with the A56 5G.
The Oppo A56 5G has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD with a waterdrop notch and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G CPU, 6 GB of RAM, and 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded by a microSD card. Around the back, there’s a dual-camera setup with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
The A56 5G also has a 5,000 mAh battery that charges at 10W. ColorOS 11.1 is the operating system, which is based on Android 11. A fingerprint scanner on the side and a headphone jack are among the other features.
In China, the Oppo A56 5G retails for CNY 1,599 (PHP12,600/ $250) and is available for pre-order. Pricing and availability for international markets have yet to be determined.
