Insta360 just launched the Ace Pro 2 action camera, stepping into a market where GoPro reigns and DJI is also a key player. Priced at $399.99, it’s actually $50 cheaper than its predecessor, while in the EU, it’s available for €449.99.
The design takes clear cues from GoPro, but Insta360 has made some unique choices. The front display, for instance, shows information only—it doesn’t give you a live view of what the camera sees. Instead, you’ll find a hinged 2.5″ main screen, which now boasts better brightness and pixel density for a sharper, clearer view.
The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is built tough and can handle being underwater up to 12 meters, with precise controls designed for those conditions. It shoots 8K video at 30fps and can do 4K slow-mo at 120fps, thanks to its 1/1.3″ sensor. It also features a 157-degree wide-angle Leica Summarit lens, giving you that signature Leica quality. Plus, you get Leica’s color profiles for a professional look straight out of the camera.
Insta360 promises “stunning low light clarity” with the combination of its hardware and AI-enhanced software. With the PureVideo feature, you’ll see reduced noise and enhanced brightness and detail, though it’s available only up to 4K at 60fps. When it comes to photos, the Ace Pro 2 captures shots in sharp 50 MP resolution.
Insta360 says you can zoom in up to 2x without losing any image quality, and the new built-in wind guard helps keep audio clear by minimizing noise. The battery lasts up to 180 minutes, and with a 30W PD adapter, you can get up to 80% charged in just 18 minutes. A full charge takes only 47 minutes.
