Huawei just confirmed that they’ll be launching their tri-folding device, the HUAWEI Mate XT, in China on September 10 at 2:30 PM local time. That’s just a few hours after Apple’s event, which starts earlier on the same day at 1:00 AM local time.

With just a week to go before its release, a new leak has surfaced showing the HUAWEI Mate XT, at least from one side. A Weibo user shared a hands-on image of the Mate XT, revealing its side profile while folded, and some pricing details.

The image shows a thinner folding mechanism on one side, a prominent circular camera bump similar to previous Mate models, and a price tag of CNY 16,888 for the 16GB+512GB variant—about PHP 134,000 at today’s exchange rate (excluding taxes and duties).

The full spec sheet isn’t available yet, but we expect the Mate XT to feature a 10-inch inner display, two inward screens, and one outward screen with a dual-hinge system. It will likely use a Kirin 9000 Series chipset and offer advanced AI features.

Huawei

Huawei Technologies was founded in 1987 in Shenzhen, China as a rural sales agent for Hong Kong-based phone and cable network businesses. In the 1996 to 1998 period, Huawei first expanded into metropolitan areas of China as urban populations exploded.

Global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company predicts that China’s urban population will hit the one billion marks by 2030 and have 221 cities with over one million inhabitants by 2025 compared to 35 in Europe. Vast cities require complex communication networks and Huawei has continued to grow at an astounding rate by expanding on and servicing this need.
