HMD has just announced its new role as the official smartphone partner for FC Barcelona. The partnership will extend beyond the men’s and women’s football teams to also include support for the club’s basketball, futsal, handball, and roller hockey teams.
HMD’s partnership with FC Barcelona was uniquely revealed by Saul Peregrina, the hairdresser of Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old rising star of the Catalan team. Peregrina announced the partnership by cutting the HMD logo next to the Barcelona crest in Yamal’s hair. The partnership includes support for both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as other sports like basketball, futsal, handball, and roller hockey.
The partnership is set to last three years, with HMD’s smartphones being advertised on the digital panels at the Olympic Stadium, where FC Barcelona is currently playing. When the team returns to the renovated Camp Nou, the ads will follow.
According to the official press release, the partnership will also expand to include “digital-first content pieces” aimed at engaging fans and maintaining strong visibility for the collaboration.
