Geely Philippines is accelerating its product resurgence by launching two new energy vehicles. Specifically, these are the all-electric Geely EX5 and the hybrid Geely Okavango Elite. The recent launch event, held at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan, marks a major milestone for the brand. Indeed, this is its first big move since adopting a direct subsidiary model last February.
“This new chapter is about putting the driver first,” said Sylva Yu, CEO of Geely Philippines. “We are building vehicles for real-world roads. Whether it’s the EX5’s quiet torque or the Okavango Elite’s hybrid practicality, we’re delivering performance that Filipinos will immediately feel.”
Geely EX5: Smart, Quiet, and Fully Electric
Priced at PHP 1,799,000, the EX5 is Geely’s first all-electric SUV in the Philippines. It represents the brand’s vision for a next-generation SUV, focusing on five key dimensions:
- New Energy: The EX5 runs on Geely’s short blade battery. It also uses an intelligent electric drive system. It charges from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, making it ideal for urban routines.
- Safety: Its safety credentials are world-class. For instance, it holds dual 5-star crash ratings from global authorities like Euro NCAP.
- Comfort: The EX5 features a spacious cabin and front-row massage seats. Additionally, its refined noise control delivers a smooth, peaceful ride.
- Intelligence: The EX5 is powered by the Flyme Auto cockpit. It features a 15.4-inch touchscreen and a 13.8-inch HUD. Furthermore, it includes L2 ADAS with a 360° panoramic parking view.
- Design: Signature features include flush electric door handles and a panoramic sunroof. As an EV, it also qualifies for a green plate.
Geely Okavango Elite: Built for Bigger Families
At PHP 1,368,000, the Okavango Elite is a spacious 7-seat hybrid SUV. In fact, it’s the only model in its segment with seven fully independent seats. This feature offers incredible flexibility for family, work, and adventure.
The Okavango easily adapts to changing needs, from school runs to long-haul trips. Key upgrades include refreshed styling and a more refined interior. Moreover, it has a wide-angle 360° camera system. Its hybrid engine delivers both performance and efficiency.

Adding to the launch day excitement, members of the Geely Car Club Philippines led by Elice Santos-Ocampo and other community enthusiasts joined the event. They received the exclusive opportunity to be among the first in the country to test drive the new Geely EX5 and Okavango Elite. The air was filled with buzz as drivers experienced the instant, silent torque of the all-electric EX5 and tested the spacious, family-friendly interior of the Okavango Elite. Early feedback from the community highlighted the impressive comfort and advanced technology of both vehicles, reinforcing Geely’s commitment to delivering cars built for the real-world needs of Filipino motorists.
A New Chapter for Geely
Together, the EX5 and Okavango Elite respond to two key needs on Philippine roads: electrified city driving and spacious family transport. Now operating under a direct subsidiary model, Geely Philippines aims to bring global innovation closer to Filipino motorists.
“These cars aren’t just feature-rich,” Yu added. “They’re built with insight into how Filipinos actually move. It’s about being smart, relevant, and ready for the roads we drive every day.”
