The automotive world is evolving quickly, and Geely is staying ahead of the curve. At the Automechanika Frankfurt Trade Fair, Geely unveiled three new electric models, with the EX5 SUV leading the charge globally.
Originally launched in China as the Geely Galaxy E5 in August, the EX5 showcases Geely’s global ambitions. Geely designed the EX5 from the ground up as an international model and extensively tested it in both left- and right-hand drive versions to ensure readiness for various markets.
The EX5 measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. Built on the GEA platform, it’s compliant with regulations in 89 countries.
The EX5 is powered by a 160 kW electric motor on the front axle, delivering 320 Nm of torque. Its intelligent electric drive system cleverly integrates 11 key components into one unit, reducing weight and boosting efficiency. Thanks to smart design and ample torque, the EX5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
The EX5 offers two battery options: 49.52 kWh for 440 km and 60.22 kWh for 530 km, making it a great option for daily commutes and longer trips.
The EX5’s interior blends modern style with sophistication. A 15.4-inch 2.5K infotainment screen takes center stage on the dashboard, paired with a 10.2-inch LCD instrument display. Higher-end models even include a head-up display. Geely’s focus on cutting-edge technology shines through with the EX5’s Dragon Eagle-1 chip, a domestically produced 7 nm automotive processor that powers the vehicle’s systems.
The EX5, originally set for a 2025 release, may launch earlier. Geely confirmed its debut in Norway, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and other markets by the end of 2024.
