Samsung is gearing up to launch not three, but four Galaxy S25 smartphones at its first Unpacked event of the year. Among them will be the new “Galaxy S25 Slim,” which is expected to slot between the S25+ and the S25 Ultra in terms of pricing, offering consumers another exciting option in the lineup.
Slimmer Design
The Galaxy S25 Slim stands out from the rest of the S25 lineup in more ways than one—it hasn’t appeared in any leaked images yet. All we know so far is that it will have a slightly different design compared to its siblings. Interestingly, rumors suggest that Samsung might use the S25 Slim as a blueprint for the design of next year’s Galaxy S26 series.
What we do know is that the Galaxy S25 Slim will live up to its name, with an ultra-thin design measuring just 6.5mm thick. That’s impressively slim, especially considering most smartphones today fall in the 8-9mm range.
Top-notch Hardware
The Galaxy S25 Slim will deliver top-tier hardware, staying true to its place in Samsung’s flagship lineup. With a price point likely to sit just below the Ultra, it’s clear Samsung is positioning the Slim as a high-end option that doesn’t compromise on performance.
The Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a 6.66-inch display, matching the size of the S25+. Under the hood, it will pack Qualcomm’s latest powerhouse, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. As for the battery, there’s still some debate, but tipsters predict a capacity between 4,700 and 5,000 mAh. While that might not sound massive, it’s quite impressive when you consider the phone’s ultra-slim 6.5mm profile.
Ultimate Cameras
Despite its slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Slim will feature an “Ultra” camera system and borrow some key hardware from the S25 Ultra. Fortunately, leaked specs give us a clearer picture of what to expect.
The main camera will likely use Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor, which could either measure 1/1.56″ or possibly 1/1.3″ like the HP2. The HP5 sensor has not been officially announced yet.
The ultrawide and telephoto cameras will feature Samsung’s 50MP JN5 1/2.76″ sensor, with the telephoto offering 3.5x optical zoom. However, the S25 Slim will skip the second telephoto camera found on the Ultra, making some trade-offs for its thinner design.
The 3.5x telephoto camera will feature Samsung’s innovative All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) design. This technology fits into tighter spaces, making it an ideal choice for the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Slim.
Price & Availability
The pricing for the S25 Slim remains unknown, but it will likely fall between the Plus and Ultra models. As for availability, don’t expect it anytime soon—evidence suggests it won’t launch until Q2. Samsung might announce it at the Unpacked event on January 22, but it will take a while before it hits shelves. The secrecy around the slim hints at a later release than the rest of the lineup, adding to the excitement for Samsung’s upcoming surprises.
