A new certification from the China Quality Certification Centre confirms that all Apple iPhone 16 series models support up to 45W wired fast charging via USB-C.
As pointed out by ShrimpApplePro on X, the certification shows iPhone 16 models testing at 5-15 volts and 3 amps, delivering up to 45W of power—over 50% faster than the iPhone 15 lineup, which topped out around 27-29W but never quite hit 30W.
Rumors had hinted that the iPhone 16 would offer faster charging, though Apple hasn’t officially commented on the wired charging speeds. They did mention that MagSafe now supports up to 25W with the right adapter, but stayed silent on wired charging, as they often do.
For years, iPhones have charged at nearly 30W, but the company has only officially said you can “fast charge” with a 20W USB-C brick.
The company unveiled the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro earlier this week, with preorders starting Friday and deliveries beginning September 20. Key features include a new Camera Capture button, larger displays on the Pro models, and what Apple calls their first phones designed for Apple Intelligence.
The new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro series are now available for pre-order, featuring enhanced performance, larger displays, and up to 45W wired fast charging. Pre-orders are open ahead of the official release on September 20.
