Apple launched iOS 18 last month, but the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features were noticeably absent. We’re eagerly awaiting iOS 18.1, where the first wave of Apple Intelligence will finally roll out—though it won’t include everything Apple showcased back in June. Apple pushed some of the more exciting features into 2025.
The first batch of Apple Intelligence will arrive soon. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that iOS 18.1 (and likely iPadOS 18.1) will drop on October 28, introducing those initial features.
Gurman reports that Apple is taking its time with the rollout to ensure there are no major bugs and to handle the surge in traffic on its AI cloud servers. Everyone eagerly awaits the chance to test the new features as soon as they drop, and Apple knows all eyes will watch its performance—so hopefully, everything goes smoothly.
As for hardware, Apple is rumored to announce a wave of new devices in late October, with releases starting on November 1. These include a low-end 14″ MacBook Pro with an M4 chip, high-end 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pros with M4 chips, a refreshed Mac mini (with M4 and M4 Pro options), a new iMac with an M4 chip, and an updated iPad mini.
Looking ahead to 2025, Apple plans to release 13″ and 15″ MacBook Air models with M4 chips, a new iPhone SE, refreshed 11″ and 13″ iPad Air models with new Magic Keyboards, and an upgraded AirTag in the first half of the year.
