[MANILA, PHILIPPINES – OCTOBER 17, 2025] — The YGG Play Summit Vibes Asian Championship Philippines will bring one of Asia’s top Trading Card Game (TCG) tournaments to Manila on November 21–22. Players will compete for a ₱1.1 million ($20,000 USD) prize pool and the title of regional champion.
Hosted by Yield Guild Games (YGG), the competition is open to everyone. Registration is public and limited to 128 participants. Minors must secure parental consent before joining.
Vibes: A New Kind of Card Game
Developed by Orange Cap Games, Vibes is a unique digital and physical TCG featuring the popular Pudgy Penguins brand. The game combines strategy and creativity. Players build “huddles” of penguin characters, action cards, and relics to challenge opponents.
Unlike traditional TCGs, Vibes is easy for beginners yet deep enough for experienced players. Its mix of play styles and card abilities makes every match different.
“We’re bringing the biggest tournaments and the best competitors to the Philippines this November,” said Mike Ovecka, Head of YGG Esports. “The YGG Play Summit aims to be the home of competitive Web3 gaming. Hosting the Vibes Asian Championship shows how committed we are to that vision.”
Tournament Format and Prizes
The YGG Play Summit Vibes Asian Championship Philippines will follow a Swiss +1 qualifier format. The top eight players advance to the single-elimination finals.
Prizes extend beyond the champion. The top 32 competitors will also receive cash rewards from the prize pool. To maintain fair play, Sashi Balakrishnan, a certified Level 3 Magic: The Gathering Judge from Malaysia, will oversee the event.
In addition, players may use up to 12 proxy cards per deck. These substitute cards allow participants to compete even if they don’t own every rare card, making the tournament more inclusive.
Learn, Play, and Compete
Before the main event, YGG Pilipinas is hosting Learn-to-Play Vibes sessions and community tournaments in Manila and nearby provinces. These activities teach the basics and help new players practice before joining the main championship.
Participants can join guided lessons with YGG Pilipinas Metaversity Marshals and use starter decks for hands-on learning.
