TCL just unveiled two new smartphones featuring its NextPaper display technology designed to reduce eye strain. Meet the 50 NxtPaper and 50 Pro NxtPaper. Despite their similar names, these phones share more than just their display tech.
The TCL 50 NxtPaper and 50 Pro NxtPaper both have a 6.8-inch NxtPaper display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 2.5D curved edge, and the fingerprint sensor is located in the power button.
The 50 has an 8 MP front camera, while the 50 Pro features a 32 MP selfie sensor. Both models share a 108 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide lens, and 2 MP macro lens on the back.

TCL’s NxtPaper technology makes the screen look like real paper with no reflections. The 50 NxtPaper and 50 Pro NxtPaper have a button below the power key to switch between Normal, Color Paper, and Max Ink modes. Max Ink mode extends reading time up to 7 days or provides up to 26 days of standby. It lets you choose up to four apps to run while suspending others, giving you a quieter reading experience.
Both TCL phones have a 5,010 mAh battery with 33W charging, but only the 50 Pro includes an adapter. Both support a flip case and T-Pen stylus, but only the Pro comes with a PC case.
TCL’s 50 NxtPaper 5G and 50 Pro NxtPaper 5G come in Gray, Blue, White, Pink, and Gold. The 50 NxtPaper 5G will cost about PHP 14,400 in the EU, while the 50 Pro NxtPaper 5G will be around PHP 19,300 in the EU and LATAM.
