Samsung is working on the Galaxy A36, the follow-up to the A35 that was released earlier this year in March. According to recent rumors, the upcoming device will feature a significant camera upgrade, promising improved photography capabilities for users.
The Galaxy A36 will keep the 50 MP main rear camera but upgrade to a new 12 MP selfie camera. This change mirrors what we can expect from the upcoming Galaxy A56. The A36’s 12 MP selfie camera is expected to deliver better quality than the 13 MP sensor used in the A3x series.
Interestingly, while both the A36 and A56 will feature 12 MP selfie cameras, they won’t be the same. The A56 is expected to deliver better selfie quality than the A36.
It’s unclear if Samsung will update the ultrawide or macro cameras on the A36, but it seems unlikely. The company tends to make only small tweaks to its A series devices with each new generation.
A recent benchmark has revealed that the Galaxy A36 will be powered by either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, paired with 6GB of RAM in one configuration. It’s also expected to run Android 15 when it launches in March next year.
