Oppo is reportedly working on a Mini version, set to launch alongside the X8 Ultra and complement the existing X8 series, including the X8 and X8 Pro, in the company’s portfolio. This mini version is expected to provide a compact alternative for those seeking a smaller, high-performance smartphone. Now, it appears that OnePlus is planning to enter the smaller-screen market as well, with a device similar to Oppo’s upcoming Find X8 Mini.
According to a recent leak from Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is preparing to release its own version of the Oppo Find X8 Mini, potentially under the names OnePlus 13T or OnePlus 13 Mini. The device will share many of the same key features as the Oppo model. This includes a 6.31-inch “1.5K” LTPO OLED display with narrow bezels on all sides, providing an immersive viewing experience. The phone will also feature an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. It will have a sleek metal frame paired with a glass back, offering a premium look and feel.
However, OnePlus plans to differentiate its version with a different chipset. The Oppo Find X8 Mini is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC will power the OnePlus model. This will give the OnePlus device an edge in performance, especially in terms of processing power and efficiency.
In terms of camera setup, the OnePlus variant will also stand apart. It will include a 50 MP main camera utilizing Sony’s IMX906 sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. This setup differs from the Oppo model, which is expected to feature a slightly altered camera configuration.
Despite the changes, the OnePlus device will likely resemble the Oppo Find X8 Mini. It will share similar design and display quality. The OnePlus 13T or 13 Mini will likely target the mid-to-high-end market, priced similarly to the upcoming OnePlus 13R. However, it could cost more. However, it will remain priced lower than the flagship OnePlus 13.
