Most video streaming platforms use DRM to protect content, making it hard for users to share screenshots of memorable moments. But now, Netflix is rolling out a new feature that lets you share those favorite scenes with others.
Netflix introduces ‘Moments’ for sharing screenshots of movies and shows
Netflix is introducing a new feature called ‘Moments,’ which lets subscribers save specific scenes from the movies or shows they’re watching. This makes it easier to revisit those standout moments anytime. Plus, you can now share these scenes with friends on social media. When you share a moment, the app generates a custom screenshot that includes the show name, episode, and the exact timestamp of the scene.
“You can revisit your Moments anytime on your phone, and if you rewatch the episode or film, it will start playing right from the scene you bookmarked,” Netflix explains in a blog post. “You can share a Moment as you create it or, from the My Netflix tab, you can select a scene and tap to share it across all of your platforms,”
While you’re watching something on Netflix, just tap the screen and you’ll see the ‘Moments’ option in the player. The company is gradually rolling out this feature to iOS users globally and plans to bring it to Android in the coming weeks.
Netflix is a streaming service that offers a wide selection of TV shows, movies, documentaries, anime, and more. It’s available in multiple languages and in more than 190 countries.
Just make sure you have the latest version of the Netflix app installed to access the new features. Hopefully, other streaming platforms like Apple TV+ will add something similar in the future!
