With the announcement of the vivo X200 Series, we finally have a closer look at its exciting new chipset: the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. This latest chipset marks a significant leap forward in both architecture and performance.
The Dimensity 9400 features a powerful single-core ARM Cortex-X925 clocked at 3.63GHz, a triple-core Cortex-X4 running at 3.3GHz, and a quad-core Cortex-A720 at 2.4GHz.
You may have noticed earlier flagship chipsets, like the Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, relied on a single Cortex-X4 core for performance. However, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 takes things up a notch with a more advanced Cortex-X925 running at an impressive 3.63GHz. Plus, it includes three additional Cortex-X4 cores at 3.3GHz. This new setup gives us a great idea of the kind of performance we can expect from this chipset.
And the results speak for themselves. Our benchmark tests revealed scores we’ve never seen before! Kicking things off with the AnTuTu benchmark, the Dimensity 9400 achieved an astonishing score of over 2.7 million points, with all sub-scores showing significant improvements compared to both the Dimensity 9300 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Vivo claims that the base X200 variant boasts an impressive AnTuTu score of just over 3 million points. The X200 Pro, equipped with UFS 4.0 storage technology, is on par with other flagship devices, so we can expect its scores to be in a similar range.
Next up, we looked at the GeekBench 6 CPU benchmark. The Dimensity 9400 achieved a single-core score of 2,741 and a multi-core score of 8,363.
When it comes to the Mali-G925 Immortalis MP12 GPU, we ran some tests using the GeekBench GPU benchmark and scored 20,720 points in OpenCL and 22,284 points in Vulkan.
These impressive results clearly place the Dimensity 9400 among the top flagship chipsets on the market.
