Google I/O 2025 is officially set for May 20-21, returning once again to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. The event kicks off at 10 AM PT (5 PM UTC), with Google CEO Sundar Pichai leading the opening keynote, where we can expect major announcements on AI, Android, and more.
Following the keynote, Google will dive into technical sessions and developer-focused talks, showcasing the latest advancements in software, cloud computing, and hardware. With AI playing a bigger role than ever, this year’s I/O could bring exciting updates across Google’s ecosystem.

Google will livestream I/O 2025, letting everyone watch the main keynotes and sessions online. In classic Google fashion, the company revealed the event date through a fun interactive puzzle called Prism Shift, keeping its tradition of playful teasers alive.
While I/O is primarily a developer conference, it’s also where Google unveils major updates to Android and sometimes even new hardware. Last year, we saw over 100 announcements, including the Gemini 1.5 models, Imagen 3 for AI image generation, and Project Astra, a next-gen AI assistant. Expect this year’s event to be just as packed with big reveals.
It looks like AI will once again take center stage at Google I/O 2025, with teasers hinting at updates for the open-source Gemma AI models, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM. We’re also expecting more details on Android 16, which is currently in public beta. Google plans to release the stable version in March, but if the rumors are true, the official OTA rollout could arrive on June 3.
Google has a history of teasing new hardware at I/O, so a first look at the Pixel 10 series wouldn’t be shocking. Whether it’s smartphones, AI tools, or software updates, this year’s event is shaping up to be another big one.
