Manila, Philippines, March 20, 2025 – Epson Philippines, in partnership with the Haribon Foundation, recently organized a coastal cleanup at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP), reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Volunteers from Epson Philippines Corporation and Haribon Foundation proudly showcase collected waste, demonstrating their commitment to protect the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park.
“At Epson, sustainability is more than a goal; it’s a responsibility we take seriously,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines. “This initiative reflects our dedication to environmental preservation and encouraging others to take action.”
The cleanup targeted pollution in the 175-hectare protected area, which is a crucial mangrove refuge in Manila Bay. The park, home to over 54 bird species, faces increasing pollution, threatening its biodiversity. Volunteers from Epson and Haribon removed 133 sacks of waste, totaling 697 kilograms. The collected debris included Styrofoam, glass, metal, PET bottles, rubber, cloth, and soft plastics.
Partnership for Impact
The Haribon Foundation, a leading environmental organization in the Philippines, provided technical support and cleanup materials, ensuring the event was safe and impactful for volunteers. Epson’s employee engagement activity aligned with its 2025 sustainability goals, and the partnership with Haribon made a significant contribution to preserving critical ecosystems.
“We chose a coastal cleanup to address one of the most pressing environmental issues,” Kusama explained. “Partnering with Haribon allowed us to make a tangible difference and encouraged our employees to engage in sustainable practices.”
Sustainability at Epson’s Core
LPPWP’s ecological importance as a sanctuary for migratory birds and its role in flood mitigation and carbon sequestration underscores the need for ongoing conservation efforts. Epson’s involvement highlights its commitment to protecting vital ecosystems and fostering environmental awareness.
This cleanup is part of Epson’s broader sustainability initiatives, which include reducing waste, conserving energy, and developing eco-friendly technologies. The company continues to engage employees in hands-on activities to promote positive change.
“Small actions can lead to big results,” Kusama added. “We hope this event inspires our employees and partners to take steps, big or small, to protect our country’s natural resources.”
