Apple has officially unveiled the new Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, both now available for preorder and set to launch on September 20.
The Apple Watch Series 10 boasts the largest display and thinnest design in the Apple Watch lineup. Its wide-angle OLED display offers 30% more screen area, making it easier to read messages, type responses, and navigate the watchOS 11 interface. The screen is also 40% brighter at angles, improving visibility.
Despite the larger and brighter display, the Series 10 maintains impressive power efficiency, offering up to 18 hours of all-day battery life on a single charge.
The Apple Watch Series 10 takes advantage of its OLED screen to support an always-on display, so you can see the seconds hand even when your wrist isn’t raised.
It also features a new Reflections watch face with a shimmering dial that reacts to your movements, adding a touch of elegance to its reflective titanium cases.
Additionally, the Series 10 offers the fastest charging ever on an Apple Watch, reaching up to 80% charge in 30 minutes.
Detect signs of Sleep Apnea
Apple’s new Watch Series 10 introduces the Breathing Disturbances feature, designed to help users detect signs of sleep apnea. This feature uses the watch’s accelerometer to track small wrist movements linked to breathing interruptions during sleep.
Every 30 days, the watch analyzes the data and alerts users if it detects consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea. Additionally, it helps assess overall sleep quality, influenced by factors like alcohol, medications, and sleep position. Users can check this data nightly on the Health app to monitor any changes.
The Series 10 also features a 4-core Neural Engine that enhances functionality with features like the double-tap gesture, on-device Siri, improved dictation, automatic workout detection, Crash Detection, and Fall Detection.
Great for water activities
The Apple Watch Series 10 brings a host of upgrades for those who love water sports. The larger display makes it easier to read workout metrics, while its 50-meter water resistance rating ensures it can handle intense swimming sessions. The watch automatically detects swimming strokes and counts laps, plus it now supports custom pool swim workouts in watchOS 11.
New sensors include a depth gauge and water temperature monitor, providing real-time insights for underwater activities. The Tides App offers tidal forecasts for coastlines and surf spots worldwide, and the Oceanic+ app, developed with Huish Outdoors, is perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts. It helps users find nearby snorkeling spots and provides relevant information to enhance their experience.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 takes water sports to the next level with its new Titanium Milanese Loop band, designed for durability and corrosion resistance. It boasts the most accurate GPS in a sports watch, featuring dual-frequency GPS for precise tracking, advanced satellite models, custom algorithms, and Apple Maps data.
Running on watchOS 11, the Watch Ultra 2 includes the new Tides app, Vitals app, and sleep apnea notifications. It offers impressive battery life—up to 36 hours on regular use or 72 hours in Low Power Mode.
Cyclists can view live workout metrics on an iPhone mounted on their bike, while hikers benefit from offline maps and customizable routes. The 3,000-nit display ensures visibility in all conditions, and the customizable Action button simplifies workout management and quick access to various features.
