Acer has officially entered the handheld gaming market at IFA Berlin with the launch of its first device, the Nitro Blaze 7 (GN771). It uses the latest AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a max boost of 5.1GHz, and pairs it with a Radeon 780M GPU running at 2.7GHz.
The Nitro Blaze 7 packs up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage, expandable through a built-in microSD card slot. For connectivity, it supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The handheld features a 7-inch IPS display with full HD resolution (1080×1920), a 144Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and AMD FreeSync Premium for smoother gameplay.
The Nitro Blaze 7 offers a range of I/O ports including 2 USB 4.0 Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card reader, 2 microphones, and dual 1W speakers.
It runs on Windows 11 Home and comes with Acer Game Space and a 3-month free PC Game Pass.
Acer’s Nitro Blaze 7 will compete directly with the Asus ROG Ally 2, Lenovo Legion Go, and MSI Claw. It’s surprising that Acer took so long to enter the handheld gaming market, especially given its growing competitiveness.
