Qualcomm just introduced a more budget-friendly chip to its Snapdragon X line for Windows PCs. The Snapdragon X Plus 8-core is a scaled-back version of the Snapdragon X Plus, featuring 8 cores, less cache, and a weaker GPU. Acer designed the Swift Go 14 AI as the first model in its more affordable Snapdragon X laptop lineup.
The Acer Swift Go 14 AI is a budget version of the Swift 14 AI with an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chipset, a 14.5-inch WQXGA display at 120Hz, up to 32GB RAM, and 1TB NVMe SSD storage.
Like its predecessor, the Swift Go 14 AI comes with a 1440p webcam and a privacy shutter. Acer has upgraded the Swift Go 14 AI with a larger battery, offering up to 28 hours of life. It also includes two USB 4.0 Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports for connectivity. You also get Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless wireless connections.
The Swift Go 14 AI features Microsoft’s AI tools for Copilot Plus PCs, including Cocreator and Live Captions. Acer has added its own AI tools, like AcerSense for device management and AI-enhanced conferencing.
Despite the expectation that Snapdragon X Plus 8-core laptops would start at $799, the Swift Go 14 AI is priced higher at around PHP 55,000 in the US and PHP 60,000 in EMEA. The Swift 14 AI with the 10-core Snapdragon X Plus starts at $1,099 (about PHP 61,000) in the US.
