The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a game-changer for Samsung’s foldable lineup. It’s rumored to be the first Z Flip device powered by an in-house Exynos 2500 chipset. This shift could signal Samsung’s growing confidence in its silicon for premium foldable devices.

If Samsung launches the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, it will likely use the same Exynos chip, delivering consistent performance across both models. This move could make Samsung’s foldable lineup even more competitive while giving the Exynos platform a chance to shine.

The Power of Exynos 2500

We’ve already heard a bit about Samsung’s 2025 chipset, but a new leak dives deeper into its specs. According to the source, the CPU will feature a total of ten cores, led by a primary Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.3 GHz. Two Cortex-A725 cores will run at up to 2.75 GHz, five additional Cortex-A725 cores will operate at 2.36 GHz, and two Cortex-A520 cores will clock at 1.8 GHz.

The chipset includes 16MB of L3 cache to handle all that power, boosting performance across tasks. If this leak proves accurate, Samsung’s next-gen chip could deliver serious multitasking and gaming capabilities.

The Exynos 2500 is shaping up to be a powerhouse, featuring 16-bit quad-channel LPDDR5X memory with an impressive throughput of 9.6 Gbps. It also supports UFS 4.X storage, ensuring lightning-fast data transfer speeds. For graphics, it packs a Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture, clocked at 1.3 GHz, promising excellent gaming and visual performance.

On the AI front, the NPU delivers up to 56 TOPs of performance, making it a beast for machine learning tasks. The ISP supports up to 320MP resolution and offers hardware-level 8K@60fps video decoding and 8K@30fps video recording, making it ideal for capturing ultra-high-definition content. This chip seems built for both speed and versatility.

If history is any guide, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Flip 7 FE are likely to make their debut in July 2025. Samsung’s consistent release schedule for its foldables makes this timeline a safe bet.
