ElevenLabs has officially launched its conversational AI, marking a significant step for the startup known for offering a variety of voices and AI-powered text-to-speech tools. This new development expands their offerings, bringing more advanced and natural-sounding interactions to users.
The company explains that their service now allows users to have full conversations on the platform. Additionally, it offers customizable features, such as adjusting the tone and response length, for a more personalized experience.
To get started, users simply log in with their ElevenLabs account and begin building their conversational agent. They can either create a project from scratch or use a template to get going. The first steps involve selecting the agent’s primary language, crafting its first message, and setting system prompts to define its persona. Then, users choose a large language model (like Gemini, GPT, etc.) to power the agent’s responses.
Users can also adjust factors like responsiveness and token usage limits to control how creative the AI agent can be. Additionally, they have the option to fine-tune aspects such as voice, latency, and stability. For more personalized interactions, users can upload their own knowledge base through a file, URL, or text block, which helps power the bot. The platform is compatible with Python, JavaScript, React, and Swift, and ElevenLabs provides a WebSocket API for further customization.
