GoPro’s Hero 13 Black now faces serious competition with DJI’s newly announced Action 5 Pro. DJI is touting an impressive 13.5-stop dynamic range and a four-hour battery life from its 1,950 mAh battery.
Even in extreme conditions, like -20°C (-4°F), it can keep recording for up to 3.6 hours. With the industry average for action camera battery life at around 2 hours, these numbers are hard to ignore. Plus, with DJI’s 30W USB-C charger, you can get 2 hours of shooting time from just a quick 15-minute charge.
The New Osmo Action
The camera comes with a 1/1.3″ sensor and 2.4 μm pixels, making it great for shooting 4K video at 60fps, even in low light. DJI says it can capture intricate shadow details without blowing out the highlights. There’s also a SuperNight mode with AI-powered noise reduction, designed to deliver cleaner, clearer footage in darker settings.
The Osmo Action 5 Pro features built-in subject centering and tracking, thanks to machine learning. It’s also tough enough to dive 20 meters deep without needing a case, and the built-in color temperature sensor helps capture realistic underwater colors. For convenience, you can set it to automatically start recording when it hits the water and stop when you resurface. Plus, it has a pressure gauge that tracks your depth, dive time, and altitude for added safety.
The Osmo Action 5 Pro features OLED displays with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a 16% improved screen-to-body ratio. It connects directly to the DJI Mic 2 Transmitter via Bluetooth for high-quality audio recording without a receiver.
It comes with 47GB of storage and supports high-speed transfers of up to 80MB/s via Wi-Fi 6 or USB 3.0. You can access several advanced features with the Osmo Action 5 Pro:

Price & Package
The Osmo Action 5 Pro is available now in two packages. The Standard Combo costs $349 and includes the camera, 1,950 mAh battery, protective frame, quick-release mount, adhesive base, locking screw, Type-C cable, rubber lens protector, glass cover, and anti-slip pad.
The Adventure Combo costs $449 (around ₱25,500) and includes everything in the Standard Combo, plus a mini quick-release mount, multifunctional battery case, and a 1.5-meter extension rod.
